The healthiest option is to have calorie controlled diet and a varied exercise program.

Calorie controlled does not mean extreme low calorie. It means recommended daily allowance.

A varied exercise program is Flexibility training, resistance training and cardio. unfortunately most people do not do this.

Also keeping track of foods on the glycemic index is a must.

Doing most of these things can achieve a healthy good looking body.

Get about 150 grams of protein a day as you gradually increase your weights. Stay away from refined foods, like sugary breakfast cereals, bread and other processed junk with added sugar. Get carbs before work outs and healthy fats through out the day, take a multi-vitamin. etc

    @shaunmoss

It depends on who you are and your genetic profile. Saying everybody can smoke weed during work outs just because you can do it is kinda stupid.

Being on a calorie surplus is not healthy for long term survival, regardless of how much muscle you have. Science shows that calorie restriction actually contributes greatly to longevity. I would say that if you can strike a balance between these extremes it would be a lot healthier than being at a calorie surplus all the time.

@wingzer20 thanks man, that’s quite a compliment :) good luck!

    FUCKING GOONS……AWFUL ACTING

  • shaunmoss:

@wingzer20 I smoked weed for years while training. It doesn’t prevent you from training hard if you’re motivated (sometimes it can even help). But still, look on youtube for scooby1961 “Marijuana & Bodybuilding” it clarifies some of the issues to be aware of.

  • shaunmoss:

@shaunmoss And remember if you make any mistakes on your diet, you can always smash it with exercise. It’s possible to overcome years of poor eating with only months of rigorous exercise.

  • shaunmoss:

@xBlue741 You can eat plenty but stick to good food. It’s not the amount as much as it is the quality. Sugar and white flour are empty calories, they interfere with your body’s natural systems, and do not satisfy nutritional needs – hence, avoid. Also avoid saturated fats, i.e. “no fast food, no fries, no chips, no pizza, etc.” Just eat mostly lean protein (beef, chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, milk), vegetables, fruits, nuts, herbs and spices, as much as possible organic. Occasional treat meals.

im so confused.. one minute i hear “you need to watch what you eat, no fastfood, no fries, no chips, no pizza, etc.” then i hear “you need to eat more calories to build muscles” and on some occasions i hear “as long as your working out, diet is the least of your worries”… help, im skinny, and i need to know if i need to eat alot more calories or watch my diet to bulk up.. im working out but im concerned about my diet..

@wingzer20 Why would you skip meals to smoke? haha, I’d eat everything in sight. Anyway, no food = no muscle gain. Your body requires material to build muscle from, this is gained through diet. If you want to ‘get ripped’ you need a lean, high protein diet (low fat, and cut a little carbs), and exercise. Enough sleep is pretty important as well as most of your growth hormone is released during that period. Good luck!

  • guigue16:

@wingzer20 it is a good idea to eat alot of protien if you excercise alot, cus itll help build muscle. If you are skipping meals to smoke you might still see results but not as good because your not taking in as much protein
